Victorian Interior - Game Environment

Inspired by the wonderful Victorian environment crafted by Ubisoft Montreal for the Assassin's Creed Unity game, in this project I've aimed to recreate the style and to showcase the beautiful interiors of the Victorian era.

This project is based on a tutorial course by Emiel Sleegers and it was a great learning experience and a lot of fun to create.
The environment consists of one bedroom/office and two hallways, with a total of 46 assets which includes: modular pieces, furniture, cloths, draperies and décor assets, alongside 54 materials.

To create the rooms, I have used modular pieces of walls, ceilings, pillars and trim sheets to ornate everything. All props have been modeled using 3ds Max and later I have used ZBrush to sculpt the gold ornate pieces and to enhance details on the sofa, chair and stool.
Additionally, I have used Marvelous Designer to create realistic cloth, drapery, pillows and carpets.
The baking process for the high-poly maps was done inside Marmoset Toolbag as it provided better results over some assets.
All of the base materials have been created using Substance Designer, following guided tutorials by Emiel Sleegers. Afterwards I have used Substance Painter to paint believable textures for my assets.

The scene has been put together inside Unreal Engine 4 where the lighting and post-processing was set-up and polished for the final renderings. This environment is also intended for a later night scene, as you might notice some details left on the chandelier and wall lamps visible in some of the images below.

I hope you enjoy seeing this project as much as I enjoyed creating it!
